About Dr. Lucy Hall-Payne
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when it involves opening up about personal challenges. That’s why choosing the right psychologist is essential. Research shows that the strongest indicator of positive therapeutic outcomes is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. My approach is warm, compassionate and respectful. I prioritise building rapport, ensuring that clients feel safe and supported as they explore a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, sleep challenges, trauma, and relationship issues.
With over seven years of experience in the mental health sector, I have developed expertise in several therapeutic models. This allows me to take an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring each treatment to fit the unique circumstances of each individual.
While I have substantial experience working across the lifespan, my specialist areas include attachment, working with children, young people, families, and individuals who have experienced trauma, including developmental and complex trauma. I have also provided support to looked after children, foster carers, and young people involved in the criminal justice system.
I am passionate about providing a holistic approach to mental health. Beyond individual therapy, I have delivered training and consultations to support systems around the individual, including schools, social care, and various organisations. My goal is to ensure that every client receives comprehensive, compassionate care that supports them long term.
I hold a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society. I am also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Psychological Services for Individuals, Families, and Parents
I provide a free 15 minute phone call to discuss what work would be most beneficial whether that be individual, family or parenting work before committing to the assessment process. The assessment process will explore in more detail what approach is best suited to yours or your family's needs. We will then collaboratively work together to identify what your goals for the sessions might be and what patterns may be preventing change from happening.
